Larry Singer is one of the leading acting teachers of his
generation. He has been named as one of the top Scene Study and acting teachers
over the past 3 years. The Larry Singer Studios was established in 2006. While
exploring new methods to support every actor's endeavor to prosper as an
artist, Larry’s teaching and the studio uphold the rich traditions of Actors'
Training. The Larry Singer Studios is a community of working actors and those
committed to pursuing professional careers.
Along with conducting his professional studio classes, Larry is a
visiting professor at Muhlenberg College (beginning in 2007) and an adjunct
faculty member of the MFA School of the Arts Theatre Program at Columbia
University (since 2002). Larry has taught and/or directed at New York
University (1992-96, 2007) as part of CAP 21, of which he was a founding board
member, AADA (1988-91), AMDA (1990-95) and at The Michael Howard Studios
(1989-2006), where he served as Associate Director., He also served as the
first Summer Conservatory Director (of which he was the core teacher) and
launched a One-Year Conservatory program designed to develop the actor's
artistic process as well as provide career training. Other teaching invitations
have brought him to Japan and Canada.
Additionally, Larry works as a coach in theatre and for film and
television, and is frequently hired by actors to prepare for auditions. He has
worked with such rising young stars as Kerry Washington, Anson Mount, Alice
Braga, Laura Benanti and Teresa Palmer.
As a Director, he recently directed Josh Billig’s Franklin and in 2011 Outside Sitka. He has directed many productions for various
conservatories, staging plays by Shakespeare, Odets, Shaw, Inge, Shanley and
Shepard, as well as original works.

SCENE STUDY
Josie is an actor, director and acting teacher. She is also the Co-Artistic Director of Human Animals, a New York based theater ensemble dedicated to exploring the idiosyncracies of the human animal. As an actor she has appeared in Shockheaded Peter (Off-Broadway), Hillary (New Georges), Passing Strange (Sundance Theater Lab), Small Claims (IRT Theater), Satisfy Me (Elephant Stages, Los Angeles), Bottle House (workshop-Public Theater, with Sam Shepard), Fran’s Bed (workshop with James Lapine and Mia Farrow). She directed the critically acclaimed middlemen by David Jenkins (Walkerspace Theater) and Dem Chan Hunderstand English, A Play without Subtitles by Susan Kalechi Watson (Studio Tisch). Josie teaches acting at New York University's undergraduate drama program at CAP21 and has an MFA from NYU’s Graduate Acting Program.

Ax Norman is a New York based actor and has worked as a professional voice-over artist for over 15 years. Ax has booked scores of jobs from commercials to animated films. His commercial clients include a wide range of companies such as Budweiser, GNC, Microsoft, Jockey, Comcast, Samsung, Delta, the Bronx Zoo, DiTech and even Blue Buffalo Holistic Dog Food! Ax has voiced over 60 audiobooks, and has provided animation voices for the likes of Pokemon, Disney and Pixar, as well as narration for the Whitney Museum, the Four Seasons Hotel, Range Rover, the National Park Service and the American Foundation for the Blind, among others. In addition, Ax has completed hundreds of E-learning and industrial projects for various clients including the U.S. Navy, Northwestern University, the E.P.A., Rubbermaid, and many, many more. Ax is a straight-forward, encouraging teacher who truly knows what it takes to succeed in the vast world of voice-overs, from landing the audition to booking the job.

Tracy Bersley received her MFA in directing from Syracuse University, focusing on movement techniques and adaptation & is on faculty at Princeton University. She has adapted and directed several stories including: Three Incestuous Sisters (CSV) Alice! (Dorset Theater Festival) The Epic of Sunjata (Loft Theatre), The House on Mango Street (Syracuse), Tibet: Through the Red Box, (HERE in conjunction with the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab); lamb of gods, (2000 NYC Fringe Festival); The Awful Rowing Toward God, (Ontological Theatre’s 2002 Blueprint Series); The Anatomy of Touch, (Ontological) Rappaccini’s Daughter (Chashama NYC/Jim Henson Foundation’s Festival). She has also choreographed original work including: On the Levee, (Lincoln Center, LCT3); Paris Commune with the Civilians (Public Theatre). She has also directed and/or choreographer at Lortel, PS 122, Prospect Theatre, Theatre Works USA, McCarter Theatre, Intiman Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Syracuse Stage, The Acting Co, Juilliard, Yale, NYU grad & ETW, SUNY Purchase, Princeton University, working with such directors as Lear Debessonet, Davis McCallum, Jesse Berger, Pam Berlin, and Steve Cosson. Tracy is also a Drama League Fellow, and member of SDC.

MUSICAL THEATER WORKSHOP
Lilli is a Manhattan based vocal coach and music director. She specializes in repertoire selection and audition preparation. Working with breath and text-based coaching methods, her philosophy of vocal performance is: breathing first, acting second, singing third, with continual focus on storytelling. She has worked with many NYC theater companies as music director including the Astoria Performing Arts Center, the New York Theatre Barn, and The Gallery Players. In addition, Lilli has worked as a general music teacher at Education Through Music and serves as the MD at Beacon High School.
